Vale Warwick Teece20Feb12
Newcastle media and advertising stalwart Warwick Teece passed away last Friday night. Warwick had been a successful radio broadcaster on both 2NX and 2HD where his open line talk-back show became highly influential in the region.
Warwick moved onto a long and respected career in advertising with wife Lyn Thurnham and their agency Thurnham Teece.
He’ll be sorely missed.
Our thoughts go out to Lyn and Warwick’s family.

Vale Wocka. Warwick was a legend in this town. He did it all. He started on 2KO and was there during the heady days of that station; he rose to top executive positions with NBN before starting his own business. Not only did Warwick do magic for his clients but was the creative nursery for such talents as Yahoo Serious, Elizabeth Coleman and Scotty Wybin. Yahoo directed and produced ‘cult’ movies, Elizabeth a successful screen writer and Scot one of the legends in Aus advertising. And he was helping talented people right up to the end. By for now now Warwick. You did it well. Thank you.
Well said Art. Well said.
In 1978 , Wozza hired me at 18 in my first job in advertise . Under Warwick , Teece Promotions was ahead of its time for a Newcastle agency. He taught me so much and we had a bloody good time doing it. I will always love and respect you Warwick. Rest peacefully. You deserve it. Scott.
I first met Warwick at the start of his radio caree in Gunnedah, 2GO?. We were good friends and shared a number of different boarding houses, but lost contact over the years.
I am very sad to hear of his passing and extend my sincere sympathy to his family.
